PEI Active Living Alliance

The PEI Active Living Alliance is a collective of organizations with a belief in active living and a commitment to increasing the level of physical activity in Prince Edward Island.

PEI Active

PEI Active is a movement that encourages everyone to become more physically active! Become one of the people
who have found exciting ways to make physical activity an important part of their day. Getting more physically active can change your life. You'll have more energy, you will build stronger muscles and bones, you will reduce your risk of many chronic diseases, you will be more relaxed, and many other great benefits.  This movement is intended to encourage Communities, Schools, and Workplaces to place a particular emphasis on providing its citizens, students, and employees with opportunities to be physically active.

The movement begins today, and it begins with you! Lead by example: If you're a parent, a teacher, a friend, an employer, or a health care provider – get active and others will follow. Encourage people to adopt a healthy lifestyle - a lifestyle that will help communities and young people to achieve their full potential.

A PEI Active Community is one that promotes and supports, through a coordinated strategy, a way of life in which physical activity is valued and integrated into daily life. PEI Active Communities are encouraged to place a particular emphasis on Active Homes, Active Leisure, and Active Transportation.

A PEI Active School is one that values the benefits of physical activity and ensures that it is a visible priority in the daily life of the school. A PEI Active school is committed to the goal of increasing the amount of daily physical for every student.

PEI Active workplace is one that values the benefits of physical activity and creates a supportive environment for employees to make the choice to become more physically active. A PEI Active workplace is committed to work towards the goal of creating a supportive environment that results in an increase in physical activity levels by its employees
